Second Annual Latin America Meeting and Incentive Travel Exchange Sells Out Colombia Event

NEW YORK (June 22, 2016) ─ Questex Travel Group kicked off its second annual Latin America Meeting and Incentive Travel Exchange (LAMITE) today to record sales numbers in Cartagena, Colombia at the InterContinental Cartagena de Indias.

The first and only event of its kind, LAMITE, held in partnership with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), and the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE), brings together top-producing, Latin America-based meeting planners and incentive buyers with leading global suppliers for two and a half days of exclusive networking opportunities and prescheduled one-to-one meetings in private, deluxe hotel rooms.

Guests were welcomed Tuesday evening with a networking reception sponsored by ProColombia and the Cartagena de Indias Convention Bureau at the stunning Casa 1537, complete with authentic Colombian music, dancing, and vibrant costumes.

The event officially opened Wednesday morning with a presentation by Cherryl Brazier, director of global sales for Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, and then continued throughout the day with pre-scheduled, one-to-one appointments between buyers and suppliers, each held in individual hotel rooms.

Questex Travel Group’s Kirk Lewis, director meetings group, said a key objective for the event is to “bring meetings and incentives industry professionals together for optimal business networking by keeping meetings intimate and interactive.”

“LAMITE is the ideal venue for global suppliers looking to grow their meetings and incentives business in the Latin American marketplace,” he said. “Our event portfolio is the only one that offers one-to-one meetings in the privacy of deluxe hotel rooms, providing tremendous value to suppliers.”

Suppliers at the event represent cruise lines, tour operators, destination management companies and sought-after incentive destinations, hotels, resorts and spas across the globe.

Sponsors include Cartagena Convention & Visitors Bureau, Contactos DMC, Hilton Cartagena, Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, Hotel Las Americas, JW Marriott Bogota, InterContinental Cartagena de Indias, InterContinental Hotels Group, Marriott Bogota, Maui Jim Sunglasses, Melia Hotels International, Meeting Professionals International, ProColombia, Radisson Cartagena Ocean Pavillion Hotel, Society for Incentive Travel Excellence, Trump International Hotel & Tower Panama, and Visit Scotland.
