Latin America Meetings Veteran Eduardo Chaillo to Present LAMITE’s First  MPI Education Program

NEW YORK (April 27, 2016) ─ The Latin America Meeting & Incentive Travel Exchange (LAMITE), entering its second year, is the industry’s first and only one-to-one event held in private, deluxe hotel rooms that targets the Latin America-based MICE buyer. Travel suppliers intent on increasing their Latin America meeting and incentive business will be coming from all over the world to participate in LAMITE, June 21-24, 2016 at the InterContinental Cartagena in Cartagena, Colombia.

Making its LAMITE debut this year will be a new educational component. Event organizer Questex LLC partnered with Meeting Professionals International (MPI) to offer “Meetings Outlook: A Deep Dive into the Latest Business Trends.” Session will be open to both buyers and suppliers and will dive into the industry's latest business trends, discussing the forecast for upcoming events and how these trends will affect meeting planners and the future of their meetings.

“We’re looking forward to imparting our world-class education program on the visitors of LAMITE,” said Stephanie Arehart, senior director of professional development at MPI.

To sweeten the pot, the session will be led by meeting industry veteran Eduardo Chaillo. Chaillo is president and CEO of Global Meetings and Tourism Specialists LLC, which serves as a bridge builder between the Mexico-Latin American industry members and the Global Meetings community, and has been appointed as global general manager for Latin America at Maritz Global Events. He worked in various roles at the Mexico Tourism Board for 12 years, most recently serving as executive director for the meetings and incentive market. Chaillo has also served on multiple industry boards, was the recipient of the Joint Meetings Industry Council’s  Profile and Power Award, been recognized as one of the inductees for the Convention Industry Council´s Hall of Leaders, and named one of the 15 most influential leaders in the Latin American meetings market by Mas Expos magazine.
“As an attendee at last year’s LAMITE, I came away with an abundance of new contacts, and a solid appreciation for the format of this event,” said Chaillo. “I couldn’t be more pleased to now be in the driver’s seat and help prepare the 2016 audience for the future of this business.”

The event brings together prequalified, top-producing MICE buyers and global suppliers for prearranged meetings, high-caliber networking and educational opportunities. Suppliers will include hotels, resorts and spas, cruise lines, tour operators, destination management companies and sought-after destinations around the globe.

Buyers represent key Latin American meeting and incentive purchasing sectors including corporate direct, incentive houses, meeting/event management companies, and travel agencies.
